Always welcome at the club, the Whitetop Mountaineers return to Ferntree Gully!
The Whitetop Mountaineers is made up of the duo, Martha Spencer and Jackson Cunningham. They both live in Whitetop, VA, at the highest mountains in Virginia. Their shows feature old time country duet singing, up-tempo old time fiddle, clawhammer banjo, bluegrass mandolin and guitar instrumentals as well as high energy Appalachian dancing.
Known the world over as “Australia’s virtuoso of acoustic roots and blues” Nick’s recordings and performances feature spellbinding guitar, riveting songs and stories gathered from forty years on the world’s musical highways. He has won every award this country has to offer, including Port Fairy Folk Festival Artist of the Year and The AGE Blues album of the year. He’s toured the USA 13 times performing more than 300 shows there as well as opening and performing with the likes of John Hammond, Ralph McTell, Guy Clarke and Taj Mahal . In the words of Bruce Elder from the Sydney Morning Herald, “he plays guitar like an angel”!
Corn Nut Creek
Corn Nut Creek (USA/AU) are award-winning folkies hailing from New York and Melbourne who will transport you with their lush three-part vocal harmonies and toe-tapping fiddle and banjo. Bound together through sisterhood and a spiritual connection to snacks, Danielle Vita and Tanya Bradley are storytellers whose original songs draw upon the traditions of Appalachian music. They recently released their first full length album 'Hearts in Bloom', which placed in the Australian community radio charts for two consecutive weeks.
